Crankcase is a 1988 Transformers G1 Triggercon that transforms into a four-wheel-drive off-road vehicle inspired by the Land Rover 90. Like other Triggercons, his signature feature is a gear-driven weapon gimmick: two double-barreled laser blasters deploy from his backpack and shoulders in robot mode and flip forward through the windshield in vehicle mode.
For vintage Transformers collectors, Crankcase is notable as one of the original G1 Triggercons and for his distinctive mechanical play feature. The Triggercon and Triggerbot toys were released by Hasbro but were not included in Takara's Transformers toy lines, making Crankcase a particularly interesting piece of the 1988 G1 lineup.
