Silverhawks Hotwing With Gyro (1987)

Hotwing with Gyro is a vintage SilverHawks action figure released by Kenner in 1987, based on the high-flying hero from the classic animated series. The figure includes Hotwing and his transforming weapon bird Gyro.

Hotwing features a unique spinning action feature. By rotating the figure's upper body multiple times and squeezing the knees together, his arms rise as the body spins, recreating his dynamic battle pose from the series. The arms can also be manually positioned and locked into place.

Gyro transforms from a bird companion into a spinning shield by folding the wings closed, allowing the shield to rotate 360 degrees. The accessory can also attach to either of Hotwing's wrists for display and play.

The figure was released in several international versions. The standard U.S. release includes Wave 1 and Wave 2 card variants with different logo angles and package text layouts. The Antex Argentina version features a lighter gold suit and a red flame pattern extending from the hand up the arm. Additional releases include Kenner UK editions.

Today, Hotwing with Gyro is a desirable SilverHawks collectible among Kenner enthusiasts and 1980s action figure collectors, especially when complete with the original Gyro accessory and packaging.
