Countdown (Micromaster Autobot Rocket Base, 1989) is a classic G1 Transformers toy that transforms into a futuristic moon rover and was sold exclusively with the large Rocket Base playset. The base transforms into a command center and features ramps and connection points that allow it to link with other Micromaster bases, creating an expandable space-themed display. Countdown includes a large assortment of accessories, including lasers, ramps, a rocket, helipad, mechanical arm, scout vehicle, and gunner pod.
For collectors, Countdown is a standout 1989 G1 Micromaster playset because of its extensive accessories and modular Rocket Base. The UK release was exclusive to Woolworths, adding additional collector interest, while the same toy was released unchanged in Japan as Moonradar. A complete Countdown set with the Rocket Base, rover, and numerous accessories is particularly desirable for vintage Transformers G1 collectors.
