Silverhawks Flashback With Backlash (1987)

Flashback with Backlash is a vintage SilverHawks action figure released by Kenner in 1987, based on the time-traveling hero from the classic animated series. The figure includes Flashback and his transforming companion Backlash, a weapon bird with a unique capture feature.

Flashback features a wing-based action mechanism that activates when the figure's knees are squeezed, causing the wings to move outward from the sides. Backlash can attach to either wrist or wrap around Flashback's arm using its adjustable strap, transforming into a loop-style capture weapon by twisting the connecting section and repositioning the head and tail.

The figure was released in multiple international versions. The standard U.S. release includes Wave 1 and Wave 2 card variants, featuring different logo angles and package text designs. The Antex Argentina version has several noticeable differences, including a solid green suit color, unpainted silver wing trim, a lime-green SilverHawks chest logo, and white-painted eyes. Additional releases include Kenner Canada and Kenner UK editions.

Today, Flashback with Backlash is a sought-after SilverHawks collectible among Kenner toy collectors and fans of 1980s action figures, especially when complete with the original Backlash accessory and packaging.
