The 1990 Transformers G1 Constructor Squad is a Micromaster Combiner Squad consisting of three construction-themed pairs: Stonecruncher & Excavator, Grit & Knockout, and Sledge & Hammer. Each pair combines to form half of a construction vehicle, while the individual Micromasters can also connect with other Micromaster Combiners and Combiner Transports. The set was sold as a carded three-pair assortment during the final year of the original U.S. Transformers toyline, making it a notable late-G1 Micromaster release.
For collectors, the Constructor Squad is particularly interesting because its molds saw several later uses. The same figures were released unchanged in Japan as the Autobot Crane Cannon W Team and Dump Shovel W Team, while redecoed versions became pilots for several Combiner Transports, including Gusher & Pipeline, Retro & Surge, and Cement-Head & Terror-Tread.
