Cliffjumper (G1 Mini-Vehicle, 1984) is one of the original Autobot Mini-Vehicles from the first year of the Transformers toyline. Based on Takara’s Micro Change MC-04 Porsche 924 Carrera GT, the toy transforms from a super-deformed sports car into Cliffjumper’s compact robot mode. Although often mistaken for a red or yellow redeco of Bumblebee, Cliffjumper is actually a separate mold that shares Bumblebee’s transformation design. Both characters were released in multiple colors early in Generation 1, helping create the impression of a larger toy assortment. This entry is yellow.

Cliffjumper received several packaging and release variations. The 1984 version featured a foil Autobot insignia, while 1985 releases switched to a heat-activated rubsign and changed from vehicle-mode to robot-mode packaging, with Mini-Spies included later that year. A rare yellow Micro Change Familia 1500XG mold also appeared on Cliffjumper cards and was later recognized by fans and officially as Bumper, a separate character. In Japan, Cliffjumper was released in 1985 as “Cliff” in both red and yellow, packaged in a small box with a rubsign.
