Shogun Warriors Raider (1977)

The Shogun Warriors Raider is a collectible die-cast robot released by Mattel, featuring multiple variations with differences in articulation, accessories, missiles, and packaging. Based on classic Japanese mecha designs, Raider is a popular figure among collectors of vintage robot toys.

The first release is the most desirable version, featuring fully articulated knees, two removable fists, a drill hand, and a spinning star launcher that fires six red rockets. It includes black bands around the rocket-wing missiles and was packaged with a green styrofoam insert, plastic window, and formed plastic display cover.

The second release simplified the design by removing knee articulation, reducing the missile count to four, and replacing the removable left hand with a permanently attached drill hand. The rocket-wing black bands were also removed, while the overall figure design remained largely unchanged.

Due to its release variations and accessory differences, the Shogun Warriors Raider is a sought-after collectible for fans of Mattel Shogun Warriors, vintage Japanese robots, die-cast mecha, classic anime toys, and retro robot collectibles.
