Shogun Warriors Dragun (1977)

The Shogun Warriors Dragun is a highly collectible die-cast robot released by Mattel, based on the classic Japanese Popy robot design. At least two confirmed versions exist, with a possible third unverified release, making Dragun a popular variation-focused collectible.

The first Dragun release is the most detailed version, featuring articulated knees, two firing fists, blue arm bands, a gold-painted neck, inverted “V” chin decals, and a right fist that launches one of three included battle axes. It was packaged in a windowed box with a green styrofoam insert and included full launching action features.

The second Dragun release simplified the design with a non-firing right fist, unpainted red neck, removed blue arm decals, a white styrofoam insert, and only two included axes. Packaging was updated to reflect the reduced action features. A third Dragun variation has been reported by collectors but remains unconfirmed.
