The 1986 LJN ThunderCats Thunderclaw is a vintage vehicle from Wave 2 of the original ThunderCats toy line, based on its appearance in the animated series. This battery-free Battle-Matic vehicle seats one ThunderCats action figure and features a unique grabbing-claw mechanism. Pressing the rear button makes the wings snap downward, transforming them into giant claws that grab figures within reach.
The LJN Thunderclaw originally included two orange handlebars, an instruction sheet, and a sticker sheet with two ThunderCats insignia decals for the wings. Collectors should be aware of two known versions: the U.S. release featured a central front wheel and two black rubber strips intended for the wing tips, while the European release omitted both. These regional variations, along with the original accessories and working claw mechanism, make the Thunderclaw an interesting collectible for vintage ThunderCats toy collectors.
