The 1986 LJN ThunderCats HoverCat is a vintage vehicle from the second series of the original ThunderCats toy line, based on its appearance in the animated series. This battery-free Battle-Matic vehicle seats one ThunderCats action figure and features a large spinning rotor beneath its body. Pressing the rear button activates the rotor and produces a distinctive “Turbo Whirl” sound effect, recreating the HoverCat’s futuristic flight action.
The HoverCat originally included two black handlebars, two wing flaps, a clear plastic windscreen, and an instruction sheet. Its spinning rotor and sound-producing mechanism make it a distinctive addition to a vintage ThunderCats vehicle collection. Complete examples with all original accessories and a working Battle-Matic action feature are especially desirable to collectors of classic 1980s toys.
