The 1985 LJN ThunderCats Monkian action figure was released in Wave 1 of the original 1980s ThunderCats toy line. Standing approximately 6 inches tall, this vintage figure features a muscular ape-like design, cream-colored molded fur, and a red loincloth. Its Battle-Matic Action lever activates a swinging arm movement, and the figure originally included a mace and helmet. Monkian was one of Mumm-Ra’s Mutant henchmen, battling Lion-O and the ThunderCats throughout the classic animated series.

The 1985 Monkian figure is a sought-after vintage ThunderCats collectible that can be difficult to find on the secondary market. Collectors should also look for two known flail variations, featuring either a red or black chain. Examples retaining the original flail and helmet are especially desirable for collectors seeking a complete LJN ThunderCats figure from the original toy line.
