Blackstar Warlock (1984)

The Galoob Blackstar Warlock, known as the “Dragon Horse of Sagar,” is John Blackstar's signature winged mount and one of the line's most recognizable creatures. The 1983 Series 1 Warlock features a bright green reptilian body, large yellow wings, a removable saddle for the 5-inch John Blackstar figure, and articulated wings. Its teeth, eyes, and facial details feature the glow-in-the-dark treatment associated with the original Series 1 figures, giving the 1983 release its distinctive appearance.

The 1984 Series 2 Warlock was refreshed as part of Galoob's second-year lineup, with several color variations appearing in the marketplace. The standard version generally retained the green body and yellow wings, while rarer examples feature an all-green color scheme or other inverted color combinations. The 1984 Warlock was also promoted in two-packs and gift sets with the updated Laser Light John Blackstar figure, making the Series 2 release an important variation for collectors.
