Blackstar Lava Loc with Alien Demon (1985)

Lava Loc is one of the most distinctive monster figures from Galoob’s Blackstar Laser Lights toy line, released during the 1985 wave as a powerful villain serving Overlord. Designed as a living lava golem, the figure features a bulky, rocky brown body covered with bright neon-orange magma-like details across the chest, arms, and legs. Lava Loc also includes a large dark club and a removable futuristic ammunition belt worn across his chest.

The defining feature of the Lava Loc Laser Light figure is its built-in sparking gimmick. A mechanical flint wheel on his upper back activates the mechanism, creating real sparks that illuminate a translucent orange panel inside his chest. The effect makes Lava Loc appear to have a glowing, molten core, combining his fantasy monster design with one of the signature mechanical features of the Blackstar Laser Lights series.

The 1984–1985 Galoob Lava Loc was packaged with a small Alien Demon companion, an unarticulated PVC creature that served as his sidekick. Companion colors varied throughout the Blackstar line, with Lava Loc commonly associated with a bright yellow or yellow-green Alien Demon. With its unusual magma-themed sculpt, sparking chest feature, club, ammunition belt, and companion figure, Lava Loc stands out as one of the most memorable villain releases in the vintage Galoob Blackstar toy line.
