Blackstar Rif Trobbit (1984)

The 1984 Galoob Blackstar Rif Trobbit is a small 3-inch companion figure based on the Trobbits from the Filmation Blackstar animated series. Rif is portrayed as the tribe's fiery, short-tempered warrior and chef, with an elemental connection to fire. His most recognizable feature is the sculpted flame rising from his hat, while his appearance includes white facial hair and a colorful yellow, purple, and blue outfit. Like the other Trobbit figures, Rif is a solid, non-articulated figure molded from slightly soft PVC plastic.

Galoob released the Rif Trobbit in several packaging formats. He could be included as a pack-in companion with select 5-inch Blackstar hero figures, sold separately as an individual carded figure, or found in the “Trobbits of the Sagar Tree” four-figure set alongside Balkar, Poulo, and Terra. These different release formats are important identifiers for collectors looking to complete the original Blackstar Trobbit lineup.

For vintage toy collectors, Rif Trobbit is a distinctive figure from Galoob's 1983 Blackstar toy line. His small PVC construction, colorful design, white beard and mustache, and especially the flame sculpted into his hat make him one of the most visually recognizable of the original Trobbit companion figures.
