Blackstar Overlord with Alien Demon (1983)

Overlord, the supreme villain of the Galoob Blackstar toy line, was released in both 1983 Series 1 and 1984 Series 2 Laser Light versions. As the tyrannical ruler of Sagar and primary antagonist of the 1981 Filmation series, Overlord is the dark counterpart to John Blackstar, wielding the Power Sword, the evil equivalent of Blackstar’s Starsword. The original figure stands approximately 5.5–6 inches tall and features a skull-like face, horned dark helmet, ribbed black skeletal armor, dark red trunks and boots, and a removable purple fabric cape.

The 1983 Overlord with Alien Demon includes a translucent neon-red glow-in-the-dark Power Sword and a small, unarticulated pink Alien Demon companion with gargoyle-like wings and a pointed tail. Like other figures from the original Blackstar wave, Overlord uses an internal rubber-band leg joint similar to early Masters of the Universe figures. These aging rubber bands commonly deteriorate or break, making loose Overlord figures with intact legs particularly desirable to collectors.
