Blackstar Poulo Trobbit (1983)

The 1983 Galoob Blackstar Poulo Trobbit is a small companion figure from the original Blackstar toy line. Based on the peaceful Trobbits (Tree Hobbits) from the Filmation animated series, Poulo is portrayed as the youngest and most curious member of the Trobbit tribe on the planet Sagar. Unlike the larger 5-inch Blackstar action figures, Poulo stands approximately 2.5 to 3 inches tall and is molded as a solid, slightly soft PVC figure. His distinctive appearance includes white hair and brightly colored yellow, purple, and white clothing.

Galoob released Poulo in several packaging configurations during the 1980s. He was available as a pack-in companion with select 5-inch Blackstar figures, sold separately as a carded Trobbit figure, and included in the “Trobbits of the Sagar Tree” four-pack. The multi-pack brought together Poulo and fellow Trobbits Balkar, Rif, and Terra, making it an especially notable format for collectors.

For vintage toy collectors, the Blackstar Poulo Trobbit is an important part of the 1983 Galoob lineup because it represents the smaller companion figures that expanded the world of the animated series beyond the main heroes and villains.
