Battlestar Galactica Colonial Scarab (1978)

The Colonial Scarab is a 1978–1979 Mattel Battlestar Galactica vehicle released as part of the vintage action figure line. Unlike many vehicles from the series, the Colonial Scarab toy was an original design created for the toy line and did not appear in the television show. Featuring the same blue and white Colonial color scheme as the Colonial Viper, the Scarab was designed as a futuristic ground vehicle with a command module, drive section, and rocket launcher assembly.

The set includes a removable Colonial Pilot figure and three red missiles. Two versions were produced: a firing version with functional missile launchers and a later non-firing version with missiles permanently attached due to updated toy safety regulations. Both versions are considered moderately difficult to find on the secondary market and remain popular among Battlestar Galactica collectors, Mattel vintage toy enthusiasts, and fans of classic science fiction vehicles.
