Brainstorm is a 1987 Transformers G1 Autobot Headmaster that transforms into a turquoise Cybertronian fighter jet. His twin photon pulse cannons attach to the nosecone in vehicle mode, extending the front and adding canard wings. Like other larger Headmaster figures, Brainstorm features a cockpit designed for his partner, Arcana, who becomes his robot-mode head.

The G1 Brainstorm toy also includes a hidden Tech Specs feature behind a hinged chest panel. Inserting Arcana or another compatible Headmaster into the head socket activates the display, revealing three of the partner's Tech Specs. With its distinctive fighter-jet mode, Headmaster gimmick, Arcana figure, and interactive Tech Specs panel, Brainstorm remains a notable 1987 Transformers G1 collectible.
