Whirl is a 1985 Transformers G1 Deluxe Vehicle that transforms into a light blue Cybertronian attack helicopter inspired by the Bell AH-1 Cobra. The G1 Whirl toy features a Gatling-style Shell Cannon and four-tube Photon Beam Rifle in helicopter mode, while robot mode replaces traditional hands with mechanical pincers that can mount his Null-Ray module and Paralyzo Box.
The Transformers G1 Whirl was licensed from Takatoku Toys by Hasbro and was not released in the Japanese Transformers line. The mold originated as the Oberon Gazzette from Special Armored Battalion Dorvack, with its blue colors inverted for Transformers. Some versions also feature raised cage-like outlines around the canopy instead of the usual smooth canopy, making Whirl a distinctive vintage G1 Deluxe Vehicle collectible.
