Wheeljack is a 1984 Transformers G1 Autobot Car that transforms into a Lancia Stratos Turbo based on a Group 5 racing version. The G1 Wheeljack toy includes two shoulder rocket launchers, four rockets, wings, and spoiler pieces, with Hasbro weakening the launcher springs for safety while Takara retained fully functional launchers. The racing deco features altered Alitalia-inspired sponsor markings.
The Transformers G1 Wheeljack was reissued in 1985 with a rubsign and later offered through mail-away promotions after its retail discontinuation. The mold originated in Takara's Diaclone Car Robots line and includes a canopy compartment designed for a Diaclone pilot. A retooled and redecoed version of the mold was later released as the Decepticon Exhaust, making Wheeljack a notable vintage G1 Autobot Car collectible.
