The 1985 Transformers G1 Bombshell is a classic Decepticon Insecticon that transforms into a robotic rhinoceros beetle. Released during the second year of the original Hasbro Transformers toyline, Bombshell was based on the Diaclone Waruder Insecter Robo “Kabutron” mold and includes his signature Twin Ion Impulse Blaster. The figure also features a clear-yellow chest that opens to reveal the original Diaclone-style pilot compartment.
The G1 Bombshell toy has a distinctive chrome insect horn and a small production variation in the horn design. Some versions include a rounded indentation near the base of the chrome section, allowing the horn to fold farther back in robot mode. As one of the original Insecticons, Bombshell remains a highly recognizable and collectible 1985 G1 Transformers figure.
