Waverider is a 1988 Transformers G1 Pretender that transforms into a black-and-gray Cybertronian submarine. The G1 Waverider toy includes a two-piece Pretender shell, helmet, belt, Thermal Broad-Axe, and Energy Spear Gun, with the spear gun usable in both robot and submarine modes.
The Transformers G1 Waverider Pretender shell resembles a human in dark-gray armored space gear and can wield either weapon. Released alongside the Japanese version Diver in the Super-God Masterforce line, the two figures differ mainly in head color, with Waverider having blond hair and Diver having brown hair, making this vintage G1 Pretender a distinctive collectible.
