Ultra Magnus is a 1986 Transformers G1 Autobot City Commander that transforms into a White Freightliner WFT-8664T cabover semi-truck with a car-carrier trailer. The G1 Ultra Magnus toy can carry up to four Autobot cars, while the cab transforms into a small robot that combines with the trailer to form his familiar super robot mode. Accessories include a rifle, chest plate, large and small fists, two missile launchers, four missiles, and trailer connectors.
The Transformers G1 Ultra Magnus originated from Takara's Diaclone Powered Convoy and was redesigned in red, white, and blue for Transformers. Hasbro's later production run replaced rubber tires with plastic, removed paint from the robot heads, and omitted several chrome and clear-plastic details, creating a less-common late-run variant. The mold was also released in Japan with additional base and catapult configurations, making Ultra Magnus a major vintage G1 Transformers collectible.
