Topspin is a 1985 Transformers G1 Jumpstarter that transforms into a Cybertronic air-skiff with a pontoon-style front. The G1 Topspin toy features a pull-back motor that propels the vehicle forward before releasing its spring-loaded legs, causing the figure to flip into robot mode. He includes a Particle Beam Rifle and an adjustable switch that affects the jumping action.
The Transformers G1 Topspin has a fragile transformation latch that can break, so collectors should check that the small black chest pin is intact. Early versions retain “D.A.R.” markings from the original Diaclone toy, while the Mexican IGA variant has a red-painted face. The Jumpstarter mold was not released in Takara's Japanese Transformers line but was later redecoed for Brazilian and Argentinian releases, including Salt-Man X.
