Thundercracker is a 1984 Transformers G1 Decepticon Plane that transforms into a metallic-blue F-15 Eagle fighter jet. The G1 Thundercracker toy includes two missile launchers, two Incendiary Guns, two rockets, fists, wings, tail fins, tail wings, and landing gear. The launchers use short rockets in jet mode and longer Incendiary Guns in robot mode, while Hasbro removed the original spring-loaded firing mechanism for safety.
The Transformers G1 Thundercracker received a heat-sensitive rubsign in 1985 and several molding changes, including hollowed wing sections and longer wing pegs. He shares his mold with Starscream and Skywarp, was later redecoed as Sunstorm, and retooled into Dirge, Ramjet, and Thrust. Regional releases included unusual packaging variants, while the piecemeal transformation makes complete vintage G1 Decepticon Plane examples difficult to find.
