Tailgate is a 1986 Transformers G1 Mini Vehicle that transforms into a white-and-blue Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. The G1 Tailgate toy is a retool of the 1984 Windcharger mold, featuring a more detailed head sculpt and a hood indent for a heat-sensitive rubsign.

The Transformers G1 Tailgate was initially released with a promotional reflective iron-on patch in 1986, followed by standard packaging without the bonus. In Japan, Takara released the toy in a small box with a collector card. The mold was later reused for Camaro and Rook, while Tailgate's design inspired the comics character Wipe-Out, making it a notable vintage G1 Mini Vehicle collectible.
