Swoop is a 1985 Transformers G1 Dinobot that transforms into a robotic Pteranodon. The G1 Swoop toy includes a Thermal Sword, two spring-loaded missile launchers, and three missiles. The launchers mount beneath his wings and make him the only Dinobot with two projectile launchers, while Hasbro weakened the springs for safety.
The Transformers G1 Swoop was based on Takara's Diaclone Dinosaur Robo Pteranodon, with changes including red robot-mode plastic, softer unchromed accessories, and rounded parts for safety. Swoop is known as one of the more fragile vintage G1 Dinobot figures and was later offered through Japan's 1992 Operation Combination mail-away campaign, making complete examples especially collectible.
