Starscream is a 1984 Transformers G1 Decepticon Jet that transforms into a gray, red, and blue F-15 Eagle fighter jet. The G1 Starscream toy includes two missile launchers, Null-Rays, cluster bombs, wings, tail fins, tail wings, landing gear, and fists. Its parts-heavy transformation requires removing and reattaching much of the jet, making complete vintage examples difficult to find.
The Transformers G1 Starscream was based on Takara's Diaclone Jet Robo mold. Hasbro removed the spring-loaded missile launchers, while Takara retained them, and later production added hollow tail-fin tips and improved fist tabs. A rubsign was added in 1985, and Starscream carries Takara ID 22, making him a key vintage G1 Decepticon Jet collectible.
