Soundwave with Wingthing is a 1990 Transformers G1 Action Master released in the first wave of individually carded Action Masters during the final US year of the original toyline. The G1 Soundwave toy is a non-transforming 3¾-inch action figure combining cartoon and original toy details, with swivel neck, shoulders, knees, ball-jointed hips, 3 mm hand holes, foot mounting holes, and a 5 mm-compatible back port.

The Transformers G1 Soundwave includes the Action Master partner Wingthing and a Photon Negator rifle. Wingthing transforms into a large cannon that Soundwave can carry, with the Photon Negator attaching to its barrel for an enhanced weapon configuration. The instructions incorrectly depict Soundwave with Treadshot's rifle, causing some collector guides to show the wrong accessory.
