Slag is a 1985 Transformers G1 Dinobot that transforms into a robotic Triceratops. The G1 Slag toy includes an Energo Sword, Electron Blaster, rocket pod launcher, and three rockets. The launcher mounts on his shoulders in both modes, while Hasbro weakened its springs for safety compared with the Takara release.
The Transformers G1 Slag has several notable variants, including a 1985 Canadian version with a red helmet, silver face, red fists, and white thighs. Based on the Diaclone Dinosaur Robo Triceratops, the Transformers release also changed the sword, horns, and other parts for safety. In Japan, Slag was later offered through the Operation Combination mail-away campaign, making him a notable vintage G1 Dinobot collectible.
