The 1985 Transformers G1 Blitzwing is a classic Decepticon Triple Changer that transforms into two distinct vehicle modes: a MiG-25 fighter jet and a Type-74 assault tank. Originally based on Takara’s Diaclone Triple Changer Jet Fighter Type, the toy comes with a Gyro-Blaster Rifle, Electron Scimitar, and three Concussion Missiles. Its jet mode features spring-loaded missile launchers, although U.S. releases had weakened mechanisms for safety reasons.
Blitzwing also includes a hidden set of horizontal jet stabilizers that fold out from his rear, while the tank mode incorporates the jet cockpit as rear-mounted kibble. Early versions featured a removable tank turret, with later releases making it fixed.
