Searchlight is a 1987 Transformers G1 Throttlebot that transforms into a Ford RS200 rally car with multiple molded headlamps. Like other Throttlebots, the G1 Searchlight toy features a pull-back motor that moves the figure forward in both vehicle and robot modes on smooth surfaces.
The Transformers G1 Searchlight was part of the 1987 Decoy promotion, with carded releases packaged with either an Autobot or Decepticon soft-rubber Decoy. In Japan, Throttlebots were also included in a promotional campaign offering one of six random all-white Autobot Master Warriors with purchase. Searchlight is known as Looklight in Japan and carries Takara ID C-93.
