Rodimus Prime is a 1986 Transformers G1 Autobot Hero and the successor to Hot Rod, transforming between robot mode, a futuristic truck inspired by the GM Bison concept truck, and a Mobile Defense Bay battle platform. The G1 Rodimus Prime toy includes a Photon Eliminator rifle, yellow spoiler, and two gun shields that attach to either side of the battle platform's cannon.
The Transformers G1 Rodimus Prime figure has notable material variations between releases. Early versions feature metal toes and rubber tires, while later production replaced both with black plastic. The mold was also redecoed as Primus for a Japanese lucky draw release, making Rodimus Prime a notable vintage G1 Transformers collectible.
