Roadgrabber is a 1988 Transformers G1 Pretender Vehicle and one of two Pretender Vehicles released during the fifth year of the original Transformers toyline. The G1 Roadgrabber toy transforms into a Cybertronic jet, with the vehicle shell's cannons forming the wings. The compact inner robot folds up to fit inside the larger vehicle shell and includes a rifle plus left and right pom-pom action freeze laser/flamethrower cannons.
The Roadgrabber shell features a geared action gimmick: plugging the cannons into slots above the rear wheels activates their reciprocating “pom-pom” movement as the vehicle rolls. The shell can also convert into a shielded chariot artillery mode that Roadgrabber can operate standing up, although the cannons become inactive in this configuration. In the UK, Transformers G1 Roadgrabber was sold exclusively through Woolworths, and the mold was never released in Japan.
