Rewind and Steeljaw are a 1986 Transformers G1 Cassette 2-pack, with Steeljaw transforming from a microcassette into a robotic lion. In cassette mode, the G1 Steeljaw toy fits inside the tape compartments of the Blaster and Soundwave toy molds and their various releases. Steeljaw includes left and right Solar-Powered Pellet Guns, with early figures featuring gold-chromed weapons and later, more common versions using silver chrome.

The Transformers G1 Steeljaw mold has several rare production variations, including painted cassette details and an extremely rare Hong Kong version with horizontal blue stripes. His tape-mode sunburst decal is also commonly considered a design error. Sold exclusively with Rewind in Hasbro markets, the mold was later reused for Nightstalker, making Steeljaw a notable vintage G1 Transformers Cassette.
