Ratbat and Frenzy are a 1986 Transformers G1 Cassette 2-pack, with Ratbat transforming from a robotic bat into a microcassette that fits inside the chest compartments of the Soundwave and Blaster toy molds. The G1 Ratbat toy includes two radar-guided free-electron laser thrusters and was the only new Decepticon cassette released in 1986. The figure has versions with gold or silver weapons and either painted or sticker cassette details.

The tiny ears on Ratbat are among the easiest parts to lose on the original figure, making complete examples harder to find. The mold was later reused for Encore Wingthing and Shattered Glass Ratbat, adding to its history across different Transformers releases.
