Race Car Patrol is a 1988 Transformers G1 Micromaster Patrol featuring four Autobot racing vehicles: Roadhandler in red as a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am, Free Wheeler in yellow as a Lamborghini Countach, Swindler in gray as a DeLorean, and Tailspin in blue as a LeMans racer. The four G1 Micromasters were sold exclusively as a complete set, with the team carrying Takara ID C-334.
The Transformers G1 Race Car Patrol was released in North America and other markets in late 1988 using transitional “Micro Transformers” packaging rather than the redesigned 1989 Micromaster packaging. Similar packaging appeared in Canada and parts of Europe, with later running-change versions using the 1989 design. This makes the set a notable example of the packaging transition during the late G1 Transformers era.
