Transformers Generation 1 Beastbox & Squalktalk (1988)

The 1988 Transformers G1 Beastbox and Squawktalk are a Decepticon Mini-Cassette two-pack featuring two transforming cassette robots that combine into Squawkbox. Beastbox transforms from a purple microcassette into a mechanical gorilla and fits inside the cassette compartment of Soundwave, Blaster, and their compatible versions. He includes two chrome Compression Cannons that attach to his beast mode.

Squawktalk transforms from a blue microcassette into a mechanical bird, while both figures combine to form the Squawkbox combiner robot. Released during the fifth year of the original Transformers toyline, Beastbox and Squawktalk are notable as the final Decepticon cassette pair released in the original G1 era. The set was sold at retail by Hasbro and offered as a mail-order release by Takara in Japan, making G1 Beastbox, Squawktalk, and Squawkbox especially interesting vintage Transformers collectibles.
