Transformers Generation 1 Afterburner (1987)

1987 Hasbro Transformers G1 Afterburner is a Technobot and one of the four components of Computron. Afterburner transforms from robot mode into an orange-and-white Cybertronian motorcycle and comes with a sonic blaster pistol, plasma pulse cannon, and incendiary missile launcher rack. As a Scramble City-style combiner, Afterburner normally forms Computron’s right arm, although his compatible limb design allows alternate configurations.

Several production variations make G1 Afterburner particularly interesting to Transformers collectors. Early releases feature D-shaped vent stickers on the hips, while later versions moved the markings to the front wheel hubs; very late releases may lack both the rubsign and its mounting indentation. Some original packages also included a random Autobot Decoy mini-figure, adding another collectible variation to this classic 1987 Technobot.
