Pipes is a 1986 Transformers G1 Mini Vehicle and an extensive retool of the 1984 Huffer figure. The toy transforms into an American-style truck resembling a terminal tractor or single-axle semi, with redesigned cab, grille, headlights, bumper, and smokestacks. Its transformation also differs significantly from Huffer, with the cab flipping behind the head and the arms pulling directly from their truck position.
The Pipes figure was released during the third year of Hasbro's original Transformers toyline and the second year of Takara's Transformers 2010 line, with Takara ID C-60. Early 1986 Mini Vehicle releases came with reflective iron-on patches as part of a promotional campaign, while later packages omitted the bonus patches. As a heavily redesigned Huffer retool, Pipes is a notable vintage G1 Mini Vehicle.
