Overdrive is a 1984 Transformers G1 Omnibot that transforms into a Ferrari 512 Berlinetta Boxer sports car. The G1 Overdrive toy also features an attack mode with wings that flip out from beneath the doors and a double-barreled blaster that deploys from the front bumper. His accessories include a neutron blaster, plasma beam rifle, and twin electron cannon.
The Transformers G1 Overdrive figure was available exclusively as a mail-order release in both the Hasbro and Takara toy lines. In the US, he was part of the original “Reinforcements from Cybertron!” mail-away promotion alongside the other Omnibots. Hasbro releases lacked bios and Tech Specs, while Takara versions included Japanese character information, making Overdrive G1 a notable vintage mail-order Transformers collectible.
