Optimus Prime is a 1984 Transformers G1 Autobot Commander and the iconic leader of the original Generation 1 Transformers toyline. The G1 Optimus Prime toy transforms into a White Freightliner WFT-8664T cabover semi-truck with trailer and includes a laser blaster, fists, four rockets, and the Combat Deck with the Roller scout vehicle. The trailer opens into a mobile base featuring a missile-equipped repair drone, Roller launcher, storage space, and accessories for maintenance and support.
The Transformers G1 Optimus Prime figure originated from Takara's Diaclone Battle Convoy and underwent several early mold and color variations as production expanded. Changes included redesigned fists and rifle, simplified accessories, altered trailer details, and different colors for Roller and the Combat Deck drone. With its distinctive truck-to-robot transformation, trailer, Combat Deck, and Roller, Optimus Prime G1 remains one of the most recognizable and significant vintage G1 Transformers collectibles.
