Octopunch is a 1989 Transformers G1 Pretender whose inner robot transforms into a crab, completed by attaching the included crab leg sections. His Pretender shell is a bipedal octopus creature in a scuba suit, with four tentacle-like appendages and a removable helmet that reveals a monstrous face. Accessories include a harpoon gun, acetylene torch gun, and helmet.
The Transformers G1 Octopunch toy can form an “Attack Robot” by attaching the small gun to his arm, while the crab legs can store on the back of the Pretender shell. The acetylene torch gun also stores inside the shell, and the softer-plastic head has limited articulation. Octopunch was never released in Japan, making the 1989 Pretender a notable vintage G1 Transformers collectible.
