Nightbeat is a 1988 Transformers G1 Headmaster from the fifth year of the original The Transformers toyline, transforming into a Porsche 959 with a distinctive hot-rod-style flaming deco. The toy features an opening roof with seating for his Nebulan Headmaster partner, Muzzle, plus a plasma blaster rifle and two photon pistols. His weapons can also be mounted in vehicle mode, with the rifle on the roof and the twin pistols on the hood.
In robot mode, the Transformers G1 Nightbeat figure features a flip-down chest panel covering a spring-loaded Tech Spec meter that displays Speed, Strength, and Intelligence when a Headmaster is attached. Unlike the previous year's individual Tech Spec tumblers, Nightbeat uses a single plate with fixed ratings. In Japan, the mold was redecoed as Minerva and later released as “Minerva Nightbeat” through a Robot Point mail-away offer, making this G1 Headmaster mold notable among late-1980s Transformers releases.
