Needlenose is a 1988 Transformers G1 Targetmaster that transforms into an F-16XL variant of the F-16 Fighting Falcon. The toy includes two Targetmaster partners, Sunbeam and Zigzag, which transform into a light burst discharger and twin electrostatic overloader rifle and can attach to 5 mm hardpoints beneath the jet's wingtips. In robot mode, Needlenose has shoulder-based articulation, with his arms able to move up and down and swing outward.

The Transformers G1 Needlenose figure is part of the fifth year of the original G1 toyline and is notable for including two Targetmaster partners instead of one. Unlike larger Targetmaster releases, Needlenose was never released in Takara's Japanese Transformers line. Today, the figure is a collectible example of the late-1980s G1 Targetmaster concept and is especially relevant to fans of Transformers G1, Targetmasters, Micromasters, and vintage 1988 Transformers toys.
