Misfire is a 1987 Transformers G1 Targetmaster that transforms into a Cybertronian jet fighter. Released during the fourth year of Hasbro's U.S. Transformers toyline, Misfire includes Aimless, his Targetmaster partner who transforms into a double-barreled ion particle blaster. In jet mode, Aimless attaches to a dedicated 5 mm post behind Misfire's canopy, while the robot mode features notably strong articulation for a G1 toy, including articulated hips, knees, and arms.

The Transformers G1 Misfire toy is part of the 1987 Targetmaster lineup and is particularly notable for its above-average articulation compared with many toys from the era. Misfire was released by Takara under ID D-89 and, like other Japanese Targetmaster releases, does not include a heat-activated rubsign. Today, G1 Misfire and Aimless are collectible examples of the classic Targetmaster gimmick and late-1980s Transformers toy design.
