Mindwipe is a 1987 Transformers G1 Headmaster that transforms into a robotic bat. Released during the fourth year of Hasbro's U.S. Transformers toyline, Mindwipe includes the Headmaster partner Vorath, who fits inside the bat-mode chest compartment, and a signature viper pistol. His bat mode features articulated shoulders and a movable tail, although the original design can make the figure difficult to balance. In robot mode, Mindwipe's chest panel reveals a spring-loaded three-stat Tech Spec meter that activates when a Headmaster figure is inserted into his neck.
The Transformers G1 Mindwipe toy is notable for its interactive Headmaster gimmick, which works with different Headmaster pilot figures and displays varying Tech Spec levels depending on the figure used. Known as Wipe in Takara's Japanese release, Mindwipe carries the Takara ID D-87 and was also released in Europe. The European French/Dutch bilingual edition has a packaging error in which Mindwipe's name is missing from the bio and Tech Specs section, making it a noteworthy detail for G1 Transformers collectors and vintage Transformers enthusiasts.
