1987 Transformers G1 Lightspeed is a Technobot that transforms into a sleek Cybertronic car and comes with a Light-Burst Gun and two Infra-red Missile Launchers. The missiles can attach to the rear wheel hubs in vehicle mode or remain mounted beneath his arms in robot mode. As a Scramble City-style combiner, Lightspeed can form an arm or leg, with his standard position as the right leg of Computron.
When used as Computron’s leg, Lightspeed faces backward because his feet do not provide enough clearance for the footplate when facing forward. His door decals are prone to being scraped by the arms during transformation and posing, while later 1988 releases filled in the rubsign indent. Some Technobot packaging variants also included a random Autobot Decoy figure. 1987 Lightspeed remains an essential vintage Transformers G1 Technobot and Computron component.
