Rambo Doctor Hyde (1986)

The 1986 Coleco Dr. Hyde is a rare villain action figure from Series 2 of the Rambo: The Force of Freedom toy line. A brilliant but twisted cybernetic scientist serving General Warhawk’s S.A.V.A.G.E. organization, Dr. Hyde is particularly sought after by collectors because complete examples with a working electronic feature are difficult to find.

The figure’s signature feature is a light-up helmet dome. A switch on the back activates a battery-powered light that illuminates Dr. Hyde’s reconstructed face inside the dark translucent helmet. Series 2 also introduced improved articulation, including moving elbows. Complete examples include the mechanical backpack with battery compartment and weapon clips, two ammunition belts, snub-nosed pistol, and AK-47-style machine gun.

For collectors, the Coleco Dr. Hyde is one of the more distinctive and challenging Series 2 figures, with the working light feature and complete accessories being especially important to its collectible value.
