Spiral Zone Zone Runner Cycle Backpack (1987)

The 1987 Tonka Zone Runner Cycle Backpack, officially sold as the Zone Runner Accessory Set, is one of the most unusual accessories in the Spiral Zone toy line. It combines a tactical backpack and foldable vehicle into a single piece of equipment designed for the line’s 7-inch Zone Rider figures.

The unit is molded in bright blue plastic and clips onto the back of a figure's cloth uniform in backpack mode. According to the toy’s concept, it can transform into a compact monowheel cycle, giving a Zone Rider portable transportation for fast-response missions.

The original carded accessory set included the blue Zone Runner backpack/cycle unit and a Top Secret Tech File containing fictional technical specifications and tactical information about the vehicle.
